“The space and quiet that idleness provides is a necessary condition for standing back from life and seeing it whole, for making unexpected connections and waiting for the wild summer lightning strikes of inspiration — it is, paradoxically, necessary to getting any work done."
essayist Tim Kreider in The New York Times
REST & THE CITY
a restorative yoga gathering to release tension and stress
Winter dates to be announced soon!
When you take care of yourself, you take care of the world!
And nothing can make you feel more cared for than community gatherings and a restorative yoga practice.
REST & THE CITY combines both!
Join alone or with friends and family members. As part of this community gathering, time will be allotted at the beginning and after class for participants to enjoy quiet time, get acquainted with one another, and share a beverage and snack. You will be guided into relaxation and in a restorative yoga practice, feeling fully supported by the earth, and the use of bolsters, blocks, and blankets.
Restorative yoga is a deeply relaxing style of yoga using supportive props to allow you to fully rest your body and release all muscular effort. Complete beginners are welcome...no yoga experience is necessary.
How this unique class works:
Enjoy this two hour+ mini-retreat! The first 20 minutes or so of the gathering are reserved for participants to arrive, settle in and unwind from their day, to enjoy some quiet time, a beverage and a snack perhaps, and connect with the other participants if they'd like. Additional time is available after the practice for folks to hang out, mix and mingle over beverages and mindfully-paired snacks.
